People with sitting jobs have twice the rate of cardiovascular disease as those with standing ones. It is also the sitting outside of work (TV, gaming, phones) which is turning a serious problem deadly.

But it is REALLY bad for your spine.

When you sit, you put 3 times more pressure through the vertebral discs in your low back than when you stand. This weakens them and causes them to bulge.

Sitting at a desk causes forward head posture and places strain on the neck and upper back. This leads to neck pain, back pain and headaches as well as joint and muscle pain.

Electrical activity in your leg muscles shuts down and the veins in your legs pool with blood which should be returned to your heart. This causes swelling and pain.

Believe it or not.. Getting up and exercising every 16 minutes for 2 minutes, is better than exercising for 32 minutes straight.

Interrupt sitting as often as you can with exercises and stretching.
